1. Day:
arrival - Trier
Individual arrival in Germany's oldest city. Let the last 2000 years go by in time-lapse on a city tour and find world-famous attractions. In the evening, enjoy the unique Riesling and the historic ambience in one of the traditional wine taverns in Trier.
2. Day:
Trier - region Trittenheim
(approx. 37 km)
Today the route on the banks of the Moselle leads you through tranquil wine villages. From Trittenheim you can cross one of the oldest bridges to reach the other bank of the river and see the old, still preserved ferry towers. From the vineyards above the village you have a wonderful view over the Moselle valley.
3. Day:
region Trittenheim - Bernkastel-Kues/Zeltingen
(approx. 28-35 km)
Passing Germany's oldest wine village, Neumagen-Dhron, you come to Piesport, where you can see an impressive Roman wine press from the 4th century. In the famous wine town of Bernkastel-Kues, a detour to the market square with half-timbered houses is recommended. Zeltingen shows a number of stately buildings from the Moselle Baroque.
4. Day:
Bernkastel-Kues/Zeltingen - Zell
(approx. 34-41 km)
Countless richly hung vineyards delight the heart and whet your appetite for a wine tasting in one of the old traditional taverns. After Traben-Trarbach you will reach the Moselle loop, the "Zeller Hamm". The 900-year old Marienburg castle sits enthroned on the back of the mountain.
5. Day:
Zell - Treis-Karden
(approx. 47 km)
You have a wonderful view on Europe’s steepest vineyard, the Calmont. From the summit you have a fabulous view over the Moselle valley. You reach Cochem, known for its imposing fortifications, as well as the castle Reichsburg, a symbol of German castle romanticism.
6. Day:
Treis-Karden - Koblenz
(approx. 39 km)
In Moselkern, a short detour to the nearby Eltz Castle is worthwhile. The Moselle flows into the Rhine in Koblenz. An exhilarating panoramic view awaits you on the cable car ride to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress (incl.).
7. Day:
Koblenz - departure
Individual departure from Koblenz.

The continuously signposted Moselle cycle path mostly leads along the river bank and consists of flat stages on cycle and agricultural paths with little or no car traffic and little-travelled back roads.

Parking and arrival information By train: Trier’s central station offers good train connections in all directions.
By car: You can reach Trier via the A1. Keep right at the motorway junction 130-Dreieck Moseltal and follow the signs A602 in the direction of Luxembourg/Trier.
By plane: The nearest airports are Luxembourg (approx. 34 km) and Frankfurt-Hahn (approx. 50 km).
Parking at the arrival hotels:Some of the hotels have their own parking facilities directly at the building (for example: parking spaces in the open air or in an underground carpark). Some of them are free of charges, while others can only be used in exchange of fees between approx. € 9,- and € 17,- per night. In the proximity of the hotels are also public parking facilities (free of charge as well as for fees up to approx. € 16,- per day). The Maare-Moselle cycle path is one of the most beautiful railway cycle paths in Germany. A bus transfer takes you to Daun and you cycle without much effort on the disused railway line to the Moselle.
