Individual arrival to Rothenburg ob der Tauber. On the first evening of your cycling holiday you can take a walk with the Rothenburg night watchman (incl.) through the romantically illuminated alleys.

You cycle through the upper Altmühl valley past the small Altmühl valley town Leutershausen, whose most famous son Gustav Weißkopf is remembered by a monument. The medieval ambience can still be felt at your stage destination in Herrieden. Alternatively, you can spend the night in Ansbach.

Passing Gunzenhausen you will reach Markt Berolzheim. You cycle either directly along the Altmühl to Treuchtlingen to relax in the Altmühl thermal spa or with a detour to Weißenburg, where you leave the Altmühl shortly before Markt Berolzheim and ride directly to Weißenburg.

The most scenic part of your bicycle tour begins from Treuchtlingen. The glistening white dolomite rocks protrude imposingly from the wooded slopes and ridges. You cycle via Pappenheim to Solnhofen. The imprint of the primeval bird Archäopteryx was found here in a quarry. A worthwhile tour in Eichstätt leads over the residence square and the Willibaldsburg castle of the episcopal and university town.

Today you have the opportunity to choose between a variety of sights. Visit the sluices of the Rhine-Main-Danube-Canal near Dietfurt. In order to shorten the route to approx. 55 km, it is possible to reserve a transfer from Dietfurt to Riedenburg on-site (on one's own, details with the travel documents).

A visit to the Liberation Hall in Kelheim is recommended. The Danube breakthrough at Weltenburg is an impressive natural spectacle. Regensburg with its medieval cityscape is considered a monument to 2000 years of art and cultural history. The Stone Bridge and St. Peter's Cathedral are not to be missed on a city tour.
